Job summary

Providence VA Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island, seeks a permanent, full-time Section Chief of Peripheral Vascular Surgery. The role leads clinical, teaching, and administrative activities across inpatient and outpatient services, with a focus on high-quality care for veterans.

Board-certified or eligible candidates with MD/DO credentials are preferred, along with an integrated vascular surgery residency or fellowship. Relocation incentives and EDRP eligibility may be available.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible.
• U.S. Citizenship: open to non-citizens if qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license.
• Integrated vascular surgery residency or fellowship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the section with clinical and administrative competencies; patient population ages 18+ to geriatric.
• Teach residents and medical students; support Medical Center and Surgical Service missions.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient diagnosis, care, and treatment; promote high-quality care.
• Oversee section operations; monitor care quality and staff performance.
• Demonstrate expertise in patient examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation.
• Teach Brown University School of Medicine; potential affiliations with Brown University Health.
