Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a secret cleared Engineering Technician to join a fully onsite team in San Diego, CA. The Engineer Technician will provide advanced technical and engineering support for the METOC systems, spanning development, integration, testing, maintenance, and sustainment.

The successful candidate will travel domestically and internationally about once per quarter, work with a small team, and interact frequently with engineering staff and end users.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• Security+ CE or equivalent
• Experience delivering full lifecycle technical and engineering support.
• Experience with shipboard system installations, maintenance and support.
• Background in networking, troubleshooting, patching.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (2–4 trips/yr).
• Engineering degree or technical diploma; strong teamwork skills.

The Engineering Technician's role provides advanced technical and engineering support for the development, integration, testing, maintenance, and sustainment of METOC systems. This position involves working as part of a small team and frequently interacting with the engineering staff and end users. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated individual that is willing to learn. This person will be required to travel domestically and internationally about once per quarter.

Skills and Requirements

• Experience delivering technical and engineering support for the full lifecycle including design, integration, testing, and maintenance

• Knowledge and experience working on the system installations, maintenance, and support on a shipboard environment

• Background in networking, troubleshooting, scanning and patching

• Hands on experience with both Linux and Windows operating systems.

• Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (2-4 trips per year)

• Technical school diploma or an associate's degree in engineering or related discipline -Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in small, collaborative technical teams.

-Ability to plan and manage tasks independently while following general engineering guidance.
