Job summary

Critical Solutions is hiring a Data Engineer to design, build, and sustain secure data pipelines for a federal customer in Norfolk, VA. You will work on end-to-end data ingestion, transformation, and governance in a hybrid cloud/on‑premises environment.

Job requires DoD Secret clearance, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and cloud data services such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen with active DoD Secret clearance.
• B.S. in a data/comp-sci/engineering field with 4–8 years of experience (Masters with 2–6 years acceptable).
• IAT Level II certification.
• Strong SQL and Python for data processing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data pipelines, data warehouses/lakes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Develop data models, schemas, tables, and curated data sets for analytics.
• Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring across data flows.
• Integrate cloud and on‑premises data platforms in hybrid environments.
• Troubleshoot data issues and perform root-cause analysis to fix defects.
• Collaborate with BI, data owners, and cybersecurity to meet requirements.
