Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II to support BTS O&M at Goodfellow AFB. You'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and document voice, data, fiber, and copper networks to support critical Air Force communications.

You will work independently or in teams, perform PMIs, and handle outages with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service in a DoD environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; telecom/electronics training preferred.
• 3+ years installing, maintaining, troubleshooting telecom systems.
• Experience with copper/fiber cabling and VoIP/telephony systems.
• DoD or Federal telecom experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair telecom systems and equipment.
• Perform PMIs per contract and manufacturer recommendations.
• Diagnose copper and fiber cabling, circuits, and hardware.
• Install, terminate, splice, test, and certify cabling.
• Support VoIP, analog, and digital telephone systems.
• Process adds/moves/removals of telecom equipment/services.
• Respond to outages per contract requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders.
• Coordinate with Government personnel and customers.
• Follow safety, security, and quality requirements.
