Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Systems Test Engineer (T02/T03) to join the Full-scale Structures Test team. You will apply mechanical, electrical, and data acquisition skills to plan, execute and report on static and fatigue testing from component to full-scale articles, across R&D and flight hardware.

The role requires a STEM degree with experience, active DoD Secret clearance or higher, and willingness to work multi-shift schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 2+ years experience for T02 or Master of Science with 3+ years; PhD with 1+ year for higher level.
• Experience with mechanical or electrical engineering concepts and data acquisition is required.
• Experience with test fixture design/update, test setup, planning and readiness reviews is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage test lifecycle: derivation of requirements, fixture design/update, test setup and reporting.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies for test hardware.
• Work with load control and data acquisition systems and thousands of sensors.
• Coordinate equipment and personnel to fulfill test requirements.
• Participate in readiness reviews and post-test data evaluation.
• Create 2D/3D drawings in AutoCAD and NX.
