Job summary

The GBS Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Oversight Representative in Virginia Beach, VA. You will provide on-site support to the NSWCPD Project Services Management Team and work with naval engineers to conduct certification and audits for SUBSAFE and Level 1 systems.

Key duties include surveillance, observations, defect reporting, and coordination with government representatives to ensure compliance and timely acceptance of workmanship aboard ship.

Qualifications

• US citizen with a Secret Security Clearance or able to obtain one.
• High school diploma or GED; military schools with naval systems knowledge, or engineering schooling.
• Five years’ experience: LEVEL I material certifier or quality systems meeting MIL-I-45208/ISO 9000, or ten years QA with SUBSAFE/LEVEL I systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering/technical support and oversight of SUBSAFE work shipboard.
• PM support to Government OSR, including surveillances, observations, and defect reporting.
• Review ship checks and technical documents to verify work completion for undocking and CAR submission.
• Support After Action Reviews after submarine availabilities as required.
• Monitor contractor work aboard ship per surveillance plan and report findings.
• Attend meetings with oversight responsibilities and track government furnished material inventory.
• Evaluate production schedules for SUBSAFE program alignment and avoid delays.
• Understand NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 SUBSAFE requirements and related guidance.
