Job summary

RTX is seeking software engineers for the Portsmouth, RI team to develop diverse systems including Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications. You will join cross-functional teams, apply agile methods, and contribute to the design, development, and integration of critical aerospace software.

The role requires a Master's in STEM, strong C++/Java skills, knowledge of data structures and multithreading, and experience with AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or similar technical degree.
• Experience designing and programming with C++, Java or other object-oriented language.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications.
• Experience utilizing Generative AI tools or ML-assisted technologies to accelerate workflows and improve code quality.
• Experience with open systems architecture (OSA) and modular design principles.

Responsibilities

• Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline product teams using agile software development techniques to develop, test, and integrate complex software for aerospace and defense applications.
• Responsible for a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly leading a small software team.
