Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Model-Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. The role requires DoD SECRET clearance and hands-on MBSE with Cameo and SysML to model complex systems.

You will work with government leads and engineers to create robust models, prepare technical documentation, and mentor junior staff while collaborating across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, science, or technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional technical experience; familiarity with Naval Weapon Systems.
• Strong MBSE knowledge and methodology.

Responsibilities

• Develop system diagrams with Government leads to model system interactions.
• Apply Cameo/SysML practices; integrate feedback from mechanical, electrical, and software teams.
• Collaborate with NAVY MBSE groups to refine modeling practices.
• Document model-based progress and results for requirements support.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical documentation.
