The Amatriot Group is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock in West Bethesda, MD. This role sits on a nine‑person IT team maintaining mission‑critical information systems for Navy engineering efforts.

Ideal for an early‑ to mid‑career IT professional with strong systems administration, SQL, and PHP‑based web applications skills who will provide daily support to government personnel and work closely with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, or another STEM‑related discipline preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience administering Windows operating systems and enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Experience writing SQL queries and performing database maintenance.
• Working knowledge of PHP and supporting PHP‑based web applications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server administration.
• Experience troubleshooting operating systems and enterprise IT systems.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Windows‑based server and workstation environments supporting Navy engineering programs.
• Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot operating systems, enterprise software, and server applications.
• Provide day‑to‑day systems administration for production, development, and test environments.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security to ensure reliable operation of mission‑critical systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, database, and network issues in a timely manner.
• Participate in system upgrades, infrastructure modernization, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
