Job summary

Bowhead Family of Companies seeks an FPGA Engineer to join the Hypersonics Projectiles Division at Dahlgren. You will design and optimize FPGA solutions, using VHDL/Verilog with Vivado/Quartus, and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems teams to deliver reliable hardware integration.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 3–7 years of FPGA design experience; Secret clearance is required; salary targets range from $110,000 to $130,000

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 3-7 years of FPGA design and development experience.
• Proficiency in HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and FPGA tools (Vivado, Quartus).
• Strong understanding of digital logic design and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop FPGA-based architectures for real-time and high-speed applications.
• Implement and optimize VHDL/Verilog code for FPGA designs.
• Conduct simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis to ensure performance.
• Debug and validate FPGA designs using industry-standard tools and methods.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems teams on integrated solutions.
• Develop and maintain FPGA testbenches for functional verification.
• Contribute to system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of FPGA hardware.
• Document design specs, implementation details, and test results.
