Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Federal Audit Remediation Consultant to document current state processes, map controls, and lead reviews across cash disbursements to safeguard Federal funds. You will work with senior leadership to remediate issues and drive process improvements, with travel to site visits and a requirement to obtain a SECRET clearance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years (up to 10+) of federal audit and financial controls experience, with at least 2 onsite days per week

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 2–10+ years in federal audit remediation, process mapping, internal controls testing, risk assessments, and accelerated audit strategies.
• Experience in accounting, audit, budget, finance, internal controls, and process improvement.
• Minimum 2 days onsite per week and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Document current state processes and controls; conduct site visits and walkthroughs; identify financial and fraud risks; partner with senior leadership on remediation.
• Lead business process documentation, flowcharts, SOPs, and review methodologies to safeguard Federal funds.
• Conduct control reviews over cash disbursements to support standardized processes.
• Strengthen documentation, controls, and audit trails over funds and processes.
• Advise senior Federal stakeholders to deliver outcomes in financial management, audit readiness, and risk reporting.
