Job summary

Cherokee Nation Strategic Programs (CNSP) within Cherokee Federal is seeking a Construction Inspector Journeyman to inspect and evaluate complex construction projects. You will ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes, coordinating with contractors, government staff, and internal teams to support large office buildings, hospitals, aircraft maintenance, and utilities projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or construction related field required.
• 3 years of related construction experience required and knowledge of codes and guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; US citizenship and Secret Clearance preferred.
• Familiarity with Civil Engineer AFIs, Unified Facilities Criteria, and building codes.
• Professional certification/registration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure contractor compliance with approved plans and specifications for various contracts.
• Coordinate with contractor reps on work scheduling, plans interpretation, and material acceptability.
• Investigate and report on claims and potential claims related to construction.
• Coordinate with contracting officer to correct deficiencies and ensure contract compliance.
• Monitor progress schedules, cost data, reports, and field logs; recommend payments.
• Prepare documents, reports, and daily logs; provide dailies and weekly activity reports.
• Oversee inspection practices for materials, workmanship, and installed systems.
• Ensure safety practices in the construction industry are followed.
