Job summary

SimVentions, an employee-owned government software hosting specialist, seeks a System Administrator for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD. Active clearance required with ability to obtain TS clearance after start.

The role focuses on Windows and Linux engineering solutions in a DoD environment. Responsibilities include deploying and managing VMs/containers, backups, security posture, Agile planning, and customer support.

Qualifications

• Active Security+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facility.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to physical and virtual hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers/workstations/IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain documentation (knowledge base, incidents, system configurations).
• Provide technical support to customers, resolving issues and offering best practices.
• Secure information systems to current DoD guidance.
• Maintain configuration and security posture through continuous monitoring.
• Participate in Agile project planning.
• Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.
