Overview

We are looking for an enterprising System Administrator to develop and implement Windows- and Linux-based engineering solutions within a government software hosting facility. This future-funded position will begin no earlier than September 1, 2026, and requires full‑time on‑site presence at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD.
Clearance
ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required. Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience performing many of the responsibilities listed in this requisition.
- Experience evaluating Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance, including performing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning.
- Certification in a Windows or Linux operating environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.
- Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including virtual machines and containers.
- Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
- Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Deploy and maintain software applications.
- Troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain documentation, including knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.
- Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best practices.
- Secure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance.
- Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.
- Participate in project planning using Agile methodology.
- Provide networking support to on‑premises infrastructure.

Compensation
The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 – $150,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
