Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design and automate secure cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes platform initiatives in a government setting. You will build CI/CD pipelines, support containerized apps, and collaborate with software, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering, SRE, Infra.
• Strong experience developing automation solutions and scripting with Python.
• Hands-on experience utilizing Terraform and Terragrunt for IaC deployments.
• Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Knowledge of Linux administration, shell scripting, and system troubleshooting.
• Understanding of networking concepts, IAM roles, security groups, and cloud security fundamentals.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred.
• Knowledge of NIST, FedRAMP, DoD or other regulatory frameworks preferred.
• Experience supporting classified, government, or highly regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Terragrunt.
• Develop automation tools, scripts, and services utilizing Python.
• Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications within Kubernetes environments.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and infrastructure deployments.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to support application deployment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Monitor system performance, availability, reliability, and security across cloud environments.
• Enforce infrastructure security, governance, compliance, and operational best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to improve platform stability and scalability.
