Position Overview

Lake Lure Classical Academy seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Middle and High School Math Teacher who is passionate about cultivating mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and a love of learning within a classical education framework. Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction & Curriculum
    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons in middle and high school mathematics (e.g., Pre‑Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre‑Calculus, and/or Calculus).
    • Integrate classical education principles, emphasizing logic, reasoning, and problem‑solving.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and abilities.
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including direct instruction, guided practice, and collaborative learning.
  • Student Development
    • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, discipline, and a love of learning.
    • Encourage perseverance, intellectual curiosity, and academic integrity.
    • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
    • Maintain high expectations for both academic performance and character development.
  • Assessment & Data Use
    • Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress.
    • Analyze assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
    • Prepare students for relevant standardized tests and college readiness benchmarks.
  • Classroom Management
    • Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior and academic engagement.
    • Create a structured, orderly, and positive classroom environment.

    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure vertical alignment of curriculum and instruction.
