• Meets with parents to discuss student progress and problems.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Performs related duties such as sponsoring activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counseling student in adjustment and academic problems.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To (Qualifications)

• Missouri State Certification in Mathematics (5-9)(9-12)

• Demonstrated experience and/or training in current techniques and skills in teaching secondary level students.
• Teaching experience in urban schools.

Physical Demands:

This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds. Job requires the employee occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Terms of Employment:

Length of work year: 10 months, 8 hours per day/ 5 days per week; 187 work days
