Job summary

Pyrotek is seeking a welder for second shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM) to weld, fabricate, repair, and construct metal parts for molten metal jet pumps. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, selecting equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years welding experience and MIG/TIG welding skills. Forklift operation and barcode tracking may be required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of welding experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Welding certification from a technical school or college preferred.
• Experience with MIG and TIG welding and welding various types of metals.

Responsibilities

• Set up, lay out, and fit up welding assignments according to blueprints and specifications.
• Select the appropriate welding equipment and method based on blueprints and job requirements.
• Safely handle materials using a forklift and other equipment as needed.
• Inspect materials and completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and blueprint tolerances.
• Perform repairs on metal components to restore functionality and performance.
• Complete required job records, inspection reports, and barcode tracking accurately.
• Track time worked on each job using a barcode scanner and communicate any significant time deviations to the supervisor.
