Job summary

RBC Bearings Incorporated is seeking a Quality Inspector in California to inspect products with gauges and metrology tools, read blueprints, and ensure conformance to specifications.

The role requires 0-3 years in metal part inspection, strong math and technical skills, and proficiency with micrometers, height gauges, and calipers. You will document results, support MRB decisions, and uphold ITAR/EAR compliance. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years performing inspection on metal parts.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
• Good math and technical skills.
• Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Practical experience with precision inspection equipment and calibration.
• Proficient in micrometers, height gage, comparator and other metrology instruments.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products using gauges and basic hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gage, comparator and other metrology instruments).
• Test incoming raw materials.
• Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
• Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
• Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
• Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
• Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
• Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
• Identify quality issues.
• Perform first article inspections, in process, receiving, and final inspection.
• Reject and write nonconforming part for MRB.
• Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, inputting data into Quality database.
• Keep measuring equipment operating by following instructions.
• Return inspection equipment back to Calibration.
