Job summary

Superior Trim - Formed Products is seeking a supervisor to lead manufacturing teams and deliver results in our Ohio facility. The role focuses on team building, coaching, scheduling, and enforcing production standards to sustain cost-efficient, high-quality trim parts for medium/heavy duty trucks.

You will recruit and train staff, monitor processes, ensure safety, and maintain production data for reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP systems and MS Office.
  • Able to manage diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

  • Directs manufacturing staff by setting expectations, coaching, and enforcing policies.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Monitors process flow and equipment, implementing cost reductions.
  • Schedules and assigns personnel to meet production plans and deadlines.
  • Ensures equipment operation and safety compliance.
  • Compiles production performance data and reports results.

Throughout the Gardner family's ownership of Superior Trim, we have made, and continue to make, significant investments to ensure that Superior Trim has all of the appropriate technologies in-house and available to produce cost-competitive, high-quality interior and exterior trim products for medium/heavy duty trucks and other commercial vehicles that our customers expect

Superior Trim - Formed Products is looking for a supervisor with a focus on team building and results.

Job duties (include but not limited to):

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

A successful applicant will have:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent
  • Previous manufacturing, distribution, or equivalent leadership experience
  • Competent in MS Office products and ERP systems
  • Self motivated and able to manage differing personalities
