Job summary

Chatsworth Products in Simi Valley, CA, is seeking a Production Associate for the second shift. The role involves loading and unloading materials, assisting production operators, moving materials, and helping prepare parts for painting along a conveyor line.

Under supervision, you''ll inspect parts, maintain safety and equipment, and train others in hanging parts on the paint line. The pay is $20.00–$21.00 per hour, with benefits and opportunities in an Employee Owner company.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have high school or equivalent education, with 1 year of related experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
• Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
• Excellent mechanical skills and use of hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting ability to evaluate equipment issues and determine corrective actions.
• Ability to read equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
• Willingness to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demands.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
• Work with fabricated metal parts, powder-coated materials and chemicals.
• Lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means.
• Assists the production operators.
• Moves and transports raw materials and finished product.
• May assist the operators with loading machines and positioning the work.
• Hangs fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications and prepares parts for painting; removes parts from the line once painted.
• Removes debris from parts prior to hanging.
• Determines best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
• Inspects hooks for burn off lifecycles.
• Inspects and maintains equipment for safety compliance and corrects issues prior to operation.
• Inspects coated items for paint coverage and tests coating thickness.
• Performs washer preventive maintenance tasks.
• Cleans and maintains work area and equipment.
• Assists and trains others to hang parts on the paint line.
