Job summary

Newly Weds Foods is seeking a Second Shift Maintenance Mechanic at the Watertown, MA plant. You will perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on production machinery to improve equipment reliability and glove quality as part of the maintenance team.

The ideal candidate has an Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent, 1–5 years of manufacturing experience, and familiarity with OSHA, GMP and food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology or equivalent education, experience, and training.
• 1-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance jargon and best practices.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and production needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine set up and repair of assembly and packaging equipment per food safety regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment per food safety regulations.
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Complete assigned projects timely and in compliance with food safety regulations.
• Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
• Communicate issues and problem-solve with Production staff on quality and safety concerns.
• Comply with OSHA and safety regulations during work or repairs.
• Accurately record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance Manager (work orders, time cards).
• Demonstrate proper handling of tools and equipment.
• Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in overtime assignments as required.
• Provide on-call coverage as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Manager.

Newly Weds Foods provides ingredients and food coatings to some of the biggest brand names in the country! We have a Second Shift Maintenance Mechanic position open in our Watertown, MA plant. The Second Shift Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to all production machinery, striving to improve equipment reliability & glove quality, as part of the maintenance team.

Essential Functions

• Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment in a manner that complies with food safety regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment in a manner that complies with food safety regulations
• Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
• Complete all assigned projects as needed in a timely manner and in compliance with food safety regulations
• Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
• Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
• Complies with all OSHA and safety regulations when conducting work or repairs
• Accurately record maintenance data and as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders, time cards
• Demonstrate proper handling of tools and equipment
• Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
• Participate in overtime assignments as required.
• Provide "on call" coverage as needed.
• Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
• 1-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA and Production needs

Any hours over 40 is automatic overtime (1.5x)

Any hours worked on Sunday is automatic double time (2x)
