Job summary

Oldcastle APG is seeking a Second Shift Machine Operator (Construction) to operate machinery per specifications and follow CRH safety policies. You will ensure products meet quality standards, perform routine maintenance, and assist with setup while maintaining a clean, organized work area.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic electronics understanding, and computer literacy; leadership skills are a plus as you coordinate with team members to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity, and tools.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Computer literacy and strong mechanical ability.
• Leadership abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates.
• Observes machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction.
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and any other necessary tasks to adhere to deadlines and completion of product.
• Make sure all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area.
