Job summary

ABM Mission Critical Solutions seeks an HVAC Technician for the second shift to operate, maintain, and repair critical data center HVAC systems. The role ensures reliability, rapid response to alarms, and smooth handoffs between shifts.

The technician will work with site Operations, Controls, Chiller, Electrical, and on-call teams, performing preventive and corrective maintenance and documenting all actions in the CMMS. Occasional extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience.
• Experience with CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, pumps, and VFDs.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and sequences of operation.
• Strong troubleshooting and ability to work independently during off-peak hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, condensers, pumps, VFDs, humidification systems, and related equipment.
• Monitor system performance, BAS/BMS alarms, trends, and environmental conditions during second shift to ensure stability and compliance.
• Respond to alarms, alerts, and service requests; escalate as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic controls issues impacting HVAC performance.
• Document all work in CMMS with findings, repairs, and escalation details.
• Escort and oversee third-party vendors performing after-hours maintenance or repairs.
