Job summary

S&D Coffee is seeking a Roast & Grind Operator for the 2nd shift in Little Rock. You will operate automated coffee processing equipment to manufacture roasted and ground coffee, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires forklift certification, strong math and communication skills, and experience with MES/ERP systems. You will collaborate with the R&G team and report to the Roasting Manager in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED or equivalent required.
• Experience in food & beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Experience monitoring product quality.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Strong math skills for recipes (percentages/fractions).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools, MES and ERP systems.
• Basic mechanics and thermodynamics knowledge.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems.
• Willingness to gain coffee industry qualifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Ability to read department documents and reports.
• Strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated coffee processing equipment to roast & grind.
• Monitor roast times and temperatures per profiles.
• Manage green coffee storage and inventory in silos.
• Set up green loading commands and maintain stock.
• Operate roasting equipment to meet production specs.
• Operate grinding equipment to required grind specs.
• Run supersack filling and pallet movement safely.
• Complete shift logs, forms, and checklists.
• Perform real-time quality checks on each batch.
• Record production data in ERP/MES systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
