Job summary

The Gund Company in Waukesha, Wisconsin is seeking an Operator II for the 2nd shift to set up, load, program, and operate CNC machinery, producing parts to close tolerances per customer orders. The role requires interpreting drawings, ensuring quality, and maintaining equipment with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of machining techniques and methods.
• Familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures.
• Communicate with supervisor on work order priority.
• Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts.
• Basic to intermediate math skills and/or aptitudes.
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment.
• Operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts.
• Places and secures work pieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other surface using clamps and wrenches.
• Load, operate and manufacture a variety of parts using CNC machining centers to make custom parts according to customer orders and instructions
• Follow written instructions from internal and external customers and interpret basic to intermediate blueprint specifications
• Perform work independently with minimal defects
• Basic recognition of tooling and procedures within established tolerances
• Complete work order paperwork
• Checks parts for conformance to customer specifications.
• Maintain count and perform packaging duties as required
• Participate in cross training activities to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the department
• Perform routine daily machine maintenance including cleaning up and lubrication
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Provide guidance, feedback and positive behavior modeling The Gund Company culture of care:
