Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years experience as a CNC machinist on mills or lathes.
• Must have basic computer skills (know how to use a computer).
• Must have a good understanding of the machining of both metals and plastics.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to observe warning signs and signals within all areas of the company.

Responsibilities

• Transfer programs from server to CNC machines using DNC software.
• Set up and operate CNC machines to perform functions on metal or plastic work-pieces.
• Mount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces.
• Perform in-process inspection of parts to verify dimensions.
• Adjust tool and work offsets to maintain part specifications.
• Ensure proper lubrication and cooling during operation.
• Review specs/blueprints for operations and sequence.
• Listen for tool wear or excessive vibration and adjust accordingly.
• Remove and replace dull cutting tools.
• Move work pieces to/from machines safely.
• Monitor coolant level.
• Adhere to health and safety policies.
