Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a CDI Second Level Reviewer in Washington, DC. You will perform comprehensive chart reviews to ensure accurate reflection of patient care and diagnosis following Official Coding Guidelines, Coding Clinics, and client policies.

Collaborate with CDI team, physician advisors, providers, clinicians, Coding Educator, and Quality Department to assure documentation supports severity of illness and risk of mortality for the patient.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with BSN, ADN, or graduation from an accredited medical school with MD or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health-related field may be accepted in lieu of nursing/medical degree.
• Current licensure as RN, MD or equivalent or credentialed medical coder (CCDS/CDIP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform second level clinical reviews to ensure documentation supports severity of illness and risk of mortality.
• Collaborate with CDI team, physicians, and quality staff to improve documentation quality.
• Query clinicians per AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines while ensuring physician engagement and education.
• Document and track results of reviews and participate in education sessions with stakeholders.
• Support client metrics by meeting productivity, quality, and turnaround targets.
