Job summary

Harlem Academy is seeking a Second Grade Lead Teacher to implement Benchmark Literacy and Math in Focus curricula and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the school’s mission.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Education or a relevant field; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years of teaching experience, ideally in a K-5 classroom.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Experience using best practices in curriculum development and assessment.
• Digital literacy with Microsoft Office and Google Classroom.

Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, providing individualized support as necessary.

Use various assessment tools to measure student progress and provide meaningful feedback to students and their families.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth transitions and continuity in learning, especially as students move between grade levels.

Maintain strong communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and feedback.

Integrate technology in meaningful ways to enhance learning and foster collaboration.

Participate actively in the school community, including attending faculty meetings and school events, and contributing to extracurricular activities.

Compensation Harlem Academy offers professional development opportunities, benefits, 10 weeks of paid vacation, and salary from $55,000 to $85,000 based on experience and demonstrated skills. There is a potential stipend available for teaching a Spanish elective if the chosen candidate is interested and qualified.
