Job summary

Norwegian Cruise Line America seeks a Second Engineer to manage daily operation and maintenance of assigned systems aboard our vessel. You’ll collaborate with the First Engineer on maintenance planning and coordinate with Electrical Engineers to resolve issues.

Requirements include STCW training, an Unlimited Second Engineer License, and a National License with Bahamian Endorsement, plus the ability to work in a multi-cultural crew environment and stand watch as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as Third Engineer
• Experience as Second Engineer preferred
• English proficiency required
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and adapt to changing schedules
• STCW training and engineering license required
• Broad shipboard mechanical knowledge

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and maintenance of assigned area
• Coordinate with First Engineer for maintenance planning and scheduling
• Report operational problems to Electrical Engineers for resolution
• Be watch qualified and able to stand watch as required
• Lead watch teams and maintenance teams in regular duties
• Adhere to Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and SMS
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department head
