You will assist in preparing SEC reports and earnings releases, while collaborating across Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

The SEC Reporting Accountant under direct supervision, develops working knowledge and understanding of the company's business systems, business processes and controls, including policies and procedures, relative to the location and department assigned.

• Pay Rate:Up to $62.00/hour, depending on experience.
• Assignment Length: 6-month contract with a high possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.

Job Overview:

The SEC Reporting Accountant, External Reporting is an entry-level accounting role that supports the preparation and filing of Halliburton's external financial reports and SEC filings. This position offers valuable exposure to public company financial reporting, SEC compliance requirements, U.S. GAAP, and financial statement disclosures.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and filing of SEC reports, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K.
• Support the preparation of earnings releases and other external reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the External Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with Investor Relations, Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting teams.
• Assist in the preparation and review of financial statement disclosures and supporting documentation.
• Develop technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills through hands-on participation in the external reporting process.
• Prepares basic accounting reports and accounting analyses with related spreadsheets or applications input.
• Develops working knowledge of the organizational structure of the company.
• Prepares and posts journal vouchers for basic accounting transactions.
• Researches basic accounting issues and transactions including related internal controls.
• Job role is developmental and intended to expose incumbents to basic aspects of general accounting, internal controls, financial analysis and reporting, forecasting, and financial applications as well as beginning levels of proficiency with industry and company acumen.

Qualifications:

• Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in accounting, business, or other related field. No previous accounting experience required.
• Knowledge of US GAAP or country-specific accounting principles required.
• Ability to apply technical accounting skills typically acquired through completion of a university degree in accounting.
