Job summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries for legal entity equity, investments, and intercompany activity.

• Support equity reporting, including rollforwards and ownership activity.

The Accountant, Legal Entity Equity Accounting position supports the Corporate Accounting group by performing accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and analysis activities related to legal entity equity, investments, intercompany activity, and related corporate accounting processes. This role helps ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP and SOX controls, and timely support for corporate, tax, treasury, legal, and regional finance stakeholders.

This position will be part of the Global Operations Accounting group and will report to a Manager within the group. The position will assist with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, equity rollforwards, investment and legal entity reporting, and ad hoc accounting requests.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

• Prepare and review journal entries related to legal entity equity, investments, intercompany transactions, and assigned corporate accounting activity.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close processes to help ensure timely, complete, and accurate financial results.
• Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and follow through on timely resolution.
• Support legal entity equity reporting requirements, including equity rollforwards, ownership activity, investment account analysis, and related reporting schedules.
• Gather, validate, and analyze financial data to support accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, and management reporting.
• Maintain compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX controls over assigned corporate accounting processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional groups such as Financial Reporting Group, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and regional finance teams to obtain support and deliver accurate reporting.
• Prepare audit support, respond to internal and external audit requests, and maintain documentation supporting accounting conclusions and control performance.
• Research, analyze, and resolve accounting issues related to legal entity structure, equity activity, investment balances, intercompany transactions, and assigned corporate accounting areas.
• Assist with special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc accounting requests as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Three to five plus years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting, legal entity accounting, intercompany accounting, investment accounting, or public accounting.
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and internal control expectations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Adobe Pro preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime, as necessary, during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods to meet deadlines.

A plus but not required

• Experience with legal entity reporting, intercompany accounting, equity accounting, or investment-related accounting processes.
