Job summary

Kickmaker in Seattle, WA is growing its US Mechanical Engineering team: design, prototyping, and testing of robotic subassemblies that integrate actuators, motors, and electronics into high-performance mechanisms.

You’ll collaborate with electrical and software engineers from CAD to bench testing, ensure GD&T manufacturability, and partner with manufacturing on machining and assembly.

Qualifications

• 5 years hands-on design and prototyping in robotics or related fields.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation.
• Experience with actuators, motion systems and sensors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for actuators and robotic joints.
• Size motors, plan wiring, and manage thermal aspects of compact systems.
• Create 3D/2D designs with SolidWorks/Creo, ensuring manufacturability with GD&T.
• Support bench testing, validation, and iteration of prototypes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on aluminum die casting, machining, and assembly.
• Integrate sensors, motors and control electronics within designs.
