Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle has an outstanding opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT). The position is 90% FTE (36 hours per week) on the Night shift with no specific schedule.

You will provide direct and indirect patient care under the RN, assist with activities of daily living, and help prepare patients for surgery. Requirements include WA CNA certification, high school diploma with healthcare experience or equivalent, and AHA BLS by

Qualifications

• Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State.
• High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR by start date.

Responsibilities

• Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility and feeding.
• Maintain a safe care environment and provide patient transportation.
• Prepare patients for surgery and perform non-invasive lab procedures.
• Transport equipment and supplies and assist with treatments.
• Take vital signs and perform various clerical tasks.
