The Lighthouse for the Blind in Seattle, WA is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide O&M training and education to people who are blind, DeafBlind, or blind with other disabilities. The role supports Lighthouse programs and partners across locations, with travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities include evaluating mobility needs, offering guidance to staff, and collaborating with transit authorities to enhance safe travel.

Formación

• BA or MA in Orientation and Mobility required.
• ACVREP certification required.
• Proficiency in ASL strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide O&M evaluation and instruction to individuals who are blind or DeafBlind.
• Deliver education/consultation and technical assistance to Lighthouse personnel and community members.
• Coordinate with Accommodations, Operations, Safety, and Maintenance teams to improve way-finding.
