Akkodis is seeking a Design Release Engineer (DRE) for our seat complete group in Auburn Hills, MI. This contract role focuses on the design, development, and release of seating systems and components, ensuring performance, cost, and timing objectives.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, 2+ years in automotive seating design, and hands-on experience with Teamcenter/NX or PLM/CATIA V5, plus strong communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university.
• 2+ years in automotive seating systems design, development & launch.
• Knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and material properties.
• Familiarity with automotive standards and validation processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Akkodis is seeking a Seat JIT DRE for a Contract 12+ Months job with a client in Auburn Hills, MI.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $32/hour; on W2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

We are looking for a Design Release Engineer (DRE) for our seat complete group. This role will be responsible for the design, development, and release of seating systems and components. Additionally, the DRE ensures compliance with performance, cost, and timing objectives. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of seat components and processes and will interface with other commodities such as cockpit, trim, restraints, body, electrical, and manufacturing.

Desired Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field from an ABET-accredited university

Experience:

2+ years in automotive seating systems design, development & launch

Knowledge of injection molding, tooling, and material properties

Familiarity with automotive standards and validation processes

Skills:

Proficiency in Teamcenter/NX and/or PLM/CATIA V5 are a plus

Good problem-solving and analytical skills

MUST HAVE excellent communication and collaboration abilities
