Affordable Homes of South Texas, Inc. seeks a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator to support pre-qualification, loan applications, and disclosures while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will interview borrowers, input data, verify information, and coordinate closings. The role requires 5+ years in mortgage origination, Spanish-English bilingual ability, and licensure with the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, along with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Residential Mortgage Loan Originator license through the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending.
• 5+ years of experience in mortgage origination, processing, and closing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants for pre-qualification and loan applications, input data into computer systems, issue disclosures, and order credit reports.
• Verify accuracy of data on applications.
• Review the loan file to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and requirements.
• Coordinate closing activities with Senior Loan Processor and/or the Legal Secretary.
• Prepare adverse action notices for denied loans.
• Perform post-closing review of all documents and make corrections as necessary.
• Attend outreach activities as needed.
• Aid primary staff in answering telephones, assisting walk-in customers, and providing general program information.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Perform other related duties as requested and assigned.
