Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse for the Float Pool on a 36-hour, rotating schedule. The RN will work under supervision within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model and MA Nurse Practice Act to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Minimum qualifications include an RN license in Massachusetts, BLS, and 2+ years in Med/Surg. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, delegation, collaboration, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing.
• Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience strongly preferred.
• Clinical Skills/Technical Knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe patient care by demonstrating organizational skills that maintain and coordinate safe delivery of quality care for assigned patients/families.
• Develop a culturally competent plan of care that identifies patient problems and expected outcomes.
• Perform systematic patient and family assessment relevant to practice settings.
• Deliver care that is appropriate to the patient’s age.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care and adapt the plan based on patient/family response.
• Coordinate care across the continuum with the health care team.
