American Commercial Barge Line is seeking an experienced Southern Mainline Deckhand to join our inland rivers crew. You will help load/unload cargo, handle rigging, and assist with docking and tow operations.

Requirements include 1 year of deckhand experience on inland rivers, TWIC eligibility, health questionnaire, and successful drug/background checks. Expect a demanding but rewarding schedule and teamwork-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of deckhand experience on inland rivers.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card and pass health questionnaire.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• 18 years or older and physically capable of strenuous tasks.

Responsabilités

• Assist with loading/unloading cargo on barges and docks.
• Inspect and report conditions affecting safety of crew or cargo.
• Handle rigging, tow building, locking and docking activities.
• Move materials to and from docks, barges and boats.
• Inspect cables and lines, maintain and tighten as needed.
• Secure barges using tow wires and cables in a safe, compliant manner.
• Perform basic vessel maintenance such as painting and oil changes.
• Demonstrate integrity, teamwork and a positive work environment.
