American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) seeks an Experienced Northern Mainline Deckhand to join our crew along inland rivers. The role emphasizes safe loading, cargo handling, and teamwork with a schedule of 28 days onboard followed by 28 days off.

We value reliability, physical readiness, and a proactive safety mindset. Candidates should have at least 1 year deckhand experience, TWIC eligibility, and the ability to pass pre-employment screenings. Onboard lodging is provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ year deckhand experience on inland rivers.
• Willing to work a 28 days on/28 days off schedule.
• Ability to obtain TWIC and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
• Inspect conditions affecting safety of team members or cargo.
• Handle rigging during barge tow building, locking, and docking.
• Maintain vessel and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed.
