Job summary

Barnes & Noble in Monroe Township, NJ is seeking a Warehouse Clerk for the seasonal 2nd shift (4:00pm–12:30am). You will organize inbound stock, prepare orders for outbound shipping, and ensure safe loading/unloading of trucks while supporting productivity and customer service standards.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour, plus a $1.00 shift differential for the 2nd shift. Flexible scheduling may be required during peak season to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Can multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a safe manner at all times.
• Possess basic written and verbal communication skills as well as mathematical skills.
• Is detailed and accurate.
• Prior warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety protocols and foster a safe work environment.
• Fill customer and store orders in a timely and accurate manner.
• Work on the warehouse floor in any area as needed, which includes regular lifting, pulling and pushing of 10lbs to 35lbs, with occasional 50lbs, and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Work with a sense of urgency and care, assuring individual and department daily production goals are met or exceeded.
• Follow all department best practices and procedures
• Work in various warehouse areas based on the needs of the business.
• Flexible with schedule required during peak season as business needs arise.
• Assist new hires and department transfers with any questions they may have in a friendly and approachable manner.
• Communicate any questions or concerns to all booksellers and members of management in a positive manner.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
