Job summary

Valid8 Financial, Inc. seeks a Seasonal Visual Security Officer stationed at store entrances to deter theft and ensure a safe shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will monitor customer traffic, assist the Loss Prevention team, and prepare detailed incident reports in accordance with laws and company policies. Flexibility for day, evening, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must own or be able to obtain a NYS Security license.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful self-starter, works well independently as well as part of a team, and is able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or entrances.
• May occasionally involve reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Must be able to assist in the apprehension of shoplifters.
• Ability to sustain long periods of time enclosed in surveillance areas.
• Frequently lift/move up to 30lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deter theft and communicate suspicious activity to Loss Prevention.
• Maintain a safe business environment and provide strong customer service.
• Monitor customer entrances and exits and monitor store traffic.
• Complete Loss Prevention training requirements and maintain certifications as required by law.
• Prepare prompt and complete reports on theft incidents, recoveries, audits, and investigations.
• Comply with law and company policies concerning apprehensions and preservation of evidence.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
