Job summary

Valid8 Financial, Inc. is seeking a Visual Security Officer stationed at store entrances to deter theft and provide excellent customer service. You will monitor customer traffic and report incidents to Loss Prevention, while maintaining a safe business environment.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent and NYS Security license, with no experience required. The role requires standing/walking, flexible retail hours, and the ability to apprehend shoplifters.

Job description

The Visual Security Officer primary responsibility is to deter theft, communicate suspicious activity to the Loss Prevention Department, maintain a safe business environment, and provide strong customer service. The Visual Security Officer is primarily stationed at customer entrances and monitors customer traffic entering and exiting the store. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Successfully complete all Loss Prevention training requirements including and maintaining personal certifications as required by law
• Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring the customer is always the # 1 priority.
• Acknowledge Customers in a friendly and helpful manner upon Customer’s entry/exit into/out the store.
• Monitor high shortage areas including receiving as needed; may perform audit functions
• Use two-way communication devices to maintain contact with Store Loss Prevention Team to ensure store safety
• Prepare prompt and complete reports relative to all theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, audits, and other activities as assigned by the Loss Prevention Manager
• Have knowledge of and maintain strict compliance with the law and company policies concerning apprehensions, searches and seizures, and the preservation of evidence
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality

• Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or entrances.
• May occasionally involve reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• Must be able to apprehend shoplifters.
• Ability to sustain long periods of time enclosed in surveillance areas.
• Frequently lift/move up to 30lbs.

Compensation

$18 - $20/hr
