Job summary

Medical City Heart & Spine Hospitals is seeking an RN for Med Surg Tele on a seasonal basis, night shift from 7:00pm–7:00am with rotating weekends. The role is PRN with a seasonal rate of $55/hr and requires adherence to the 32-week term and 72 hours per pay period.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, telemetry management, and collaborative care within the cardiovascular service line. BSN must be obtained within 24 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Associate's Degree acceptable to start; BSN required within 24 months of hire.
• Current TX RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe Telemetry environment.
• Deliver direct nursing care using the nursing process for Telemetry patients.
• Evaluate effectiveness of the nursing process.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate staff members.
• Participate in cardiovascular dept initiatives and process improvements.
• Supervise new staff and ensure high quality age-appropriate care.
