H&R Block, Inc. seeks a Seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate returns, interview clients to assess finances, and offer personalized tax-saving recommendations. You will work in-person at a local H&R Block tax office, with training and technology to support you, plus a competitive hourly rate and incentive plan.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year in tax prep, strong communication, and a commitment to ongoing IRS/state education. A relevant degree or CPA/EA credential is a plus.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields.
• Experience in client-facing, consultative or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications—then provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant HR Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
