Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare accurate tax returns and advise clients in person at a local Block office. You will interview clients, identify tax-saving opportunities, and deliver consultative service while building lasting relationships.

You will work with diverse tax situations, including individual and business returns, and will receive industry-leading training, support, and a competitive hourly rate with incentive plans.

Qualifications

• Requires H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• 1+ year in tax prep, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping including individual/business returns.
• Customer-facing or advisory experience.
• Strong verbal/written communication; explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and relevant H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
