Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare complex returns and advise clients in a local office. You will interview clients, assess financial situations, and offer personalized tax recommendations while delivering empathetic service.

In this role you’ll leverage training and technology to navigate tax scenarios, comply with IRS/state requirements, and help clients maximize refunds. The position is in-person at a local H&R Block tax office.

Qualifications

• Passed the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment 1.
• At least 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative or advisory role.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations and tax implications, then provide clear recommendations.
• Build trusted client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
