Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal Experienced Tax Professional to prepare returns and advise clients in-person at a local tax office in Manchester, CT.

You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and deliver guidance supported by our training and technology platform. Requirements include at least 1 year of tax-related experience and a high school diploma; bachelor’s degree or credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience in client facing, consultative, or advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial life changes and tax implications.
• Provide personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance when needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client‑focused office environment.
