Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a seasonal Tax Associate to meet with clients, gather information, and prepare tax returns with support from experienced teammates. No prior tax experience required; you’ll receive training and work directly with clients in person at a local H&R Block tax office.

You’ll explain tax information, identify savings opportunities, and build strong client relationships while supporting office priorities through teamwork.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course
• Experience interacting with customers or clients in a service-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills, including explaining information clearly and asking questions to understand needs
• Problem-solving skills, including organizing information and identifying solutions; comfortable using digital tools incl AI like Copilot and ChatGPT
• High school diploma / GED/ equivalent

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to gather information and understand their tax situation
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns with training and support from experienced teammates
• Explain tax information clearly and provide recommendations in a way clients can easily understand
• Identify tax savings opportunities and recommend relevant products and services
• Apply problem-solving skills to analyze client information and address questions or unique situations with guidance and available resources
• Build strong client relationships and support office priorities through teamwork, collaboration, and a client-first approach
