Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Professional to guide clients through complex tax situations with confidence. You will prepare returns, uncover savings opportunities, and build lasting client relationships using our industry-leading training and technology.

This in-person role is based at a local H&R Block tax office. You will interview clients, explain tax concepts clearly, provide IRS support, and collaborate with the team to deliver empathetic, client-focused service.

Qualifications

• Completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• Minimum 1 year of experience in tax preparation or related fields
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain tax concepts clearly
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED is required

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financials and tax implications
• Provide clear, personalized recommendations and identify tax savings opportunities and H&R Block products
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment
